3-D Erosion Control Mat

    Description

Erosion Control is one of the essential component in today's slope protection works. Effective Erosion control prevents landslips in urban/rural areas adjoining habitation/ buildings and truck roads particularly in tropical regions. Likewise, this measure is equally important in respect of safety and durability of embankment for river and railway.

The 3-D Erosion Control Mat (3-D ECM) is developed specifically for these purpose. Permanent erosion protection to slope is formed with competitive low cost and easy installation when compared with the traditional concrete/stone paving method. Environmentally speaking, the 3-D ECM is also superior to shotcreting by upgrading the surrounding aesthetics and avoid air pollution.

    Characteristic

3-D ECM is made of HDPE filaments fused and crossed together to form a three-dimensional multilayer mat. It is light and flexible to suit uneven slope profile with spacious volume of more than 90% for soil filling. These efficiently enhance the growing of vegetation roots into the soil and integrate with the ECM to give a secure and interlocked composite erosion control system. The flexibility of the whole system also prevents the formation of voids when settlement occurs. Moreover, the 3-D Wavy profile retards the surface water flow and wind erosion to allow sedimentation.

    Advantages

The 3-D ECM provide excellent soil retention percentage for slope with different gradient. Prior to seed germination, proven results demonstrate a 97.5% soil retention for slope gradient 45°, 84% for slope gradient 60° for vertical slope. The 3-D structure is far more efficient than ordinary 2-D mat.

 

 

Wind and rain erosion to slope are mitigated prior to seed germination. Conventional biodegradable protection mat only serves for temporary purpose which lasts less than half year.

 

 

Minimize the seed loss by nature and maintain an even spread on slope.

 

 

The vegetation, 3-D ECM and soil integrate into a robust interlocked structure which can resist high water and tidal erosion.

 

 

The 3-D wavy profile of 3-D ECM enhances the formation of numerous small turbulent by wind/ water which in return dissipates excessive and retains sediments.

 

 

Rapid growing of landscaping / Hydroseeding on 3-D ECM are both aesthetically friendly and improve environmental protection.
